The Fleece Inn is a traditional country inn, situated in the idyllic and historic village of Dolphinholme, near Lancaster. The Fleece Inn is the perfect place to stay for exploring the fabulous surrounding countryside.
Being in the extremely privileged location that it is, The Fleece sits right on the doorstep of the Forest of Bowland (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and is just 7 miles from the wonderfully historic city of Lancaster centre.
If you choose to venture a little further afield, you could take a scenic drive (just over 20 miles) and immerse yourself in the rolling hills and tranquil valleys of The Yorkshire Dales National Park, or head just 30 minutes north and you’ll be touching the southern edge of Cumbria’s wonderful Lake District.
At The Fleece Inn, you’ll enjoy some of the finest local produce, cooked to a very high standard by talented Head Chef, Ian Manning and his team. Ian and his team create honest food with a minimum of fuss and alongside those always popular pub classics, he also produces an exciting selection of international themed dishes, as well as a good choice of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
A great deal of the produce we use at The Fleece Inn is sourced from a selection of superb local suppliers. Honeywells supply our meat, which they source from neighbouring farms on the outskirts of Preston. You’ll regularly see Dewlay cheeses mentioned on the menu.
You’ll always find the bar at The Fleece Inn well-stocked with top quality beers from a great host of local breweries: Bowland Brewery, Avid Brewing, Lancaster Brewery, Corless Brewing Co, Farm Yard Ales, and more. When it comes to wines, we’re always happy to rely on the skilled judgement of award-winning fine wine merchants, D Byrne and Co, Clitheroe.
